Wet Seal hosted an amazing night of fashion, shopping, music, and drink Wednesday night with Mame from America’s Next Top Model! Mame Adjei helped usher in the brand’s latest campaign, IDEFINEPRETTY.

(Los Angeles, CA) In recognition of Wet Seal’s re-brand, the Southern California–based company hosted a fun–filled night of music, drinks, shopping, and fashion. The fab event was held at The Well in downtown Los Angeles on Wednesday, August 31. The brand’s latest styles were on hand for guests to shop for free. Furthermore, Wet Seal officially launched their latest campaign with Mame Adjei from America’s Next Top Model called IDEFINEPRETTY.

The program, which encourages young women to define what pretty means to them, runs through the entire month of September. Moreover, Mame, who works with schools for youth empowerment, is shooting for the campaign with fellow model Aarika Wolf. The shoot went down like a DM on Thursday, September 1. Both models being shot wearing a custom IDEFINEPRETTY t-shirt.

The Deets

The event, was an action packed night that included LA’s most notable influencers, tastemakers, fashionistas, and more. For instance, Emily Mei, Cathy Kim, and Minh Pham, sipped on tasty cocktails and mingled with friends. Also, Model Sam Blacky kept the crowd in high spirits with her upbeat DJ set.

Moreover, models such as Alanna Whittaker, Sara Mia, and Brittny Ward kept it cute while shopping new fall looks. Wet Seal’s VP of Brand Marketing, Angelo D’Agostino, delivered a warming speech about the latest campaign. He acknowledged the new direction the brand is heading while thanking guests for their attendance and support. Other highlights included Mame Adjei snapping pics with guests, the DJ, and the Wet Seal team, offering a bevy of Instagram-worthy posts, and a gaggle of hilarious Snapchat moments.

Let’s Paint Delia Alleyne S/S 2016 Collection

The “Let’s Paint” women’s fashion collection created for spring and summer of 2016 offers a splash of colorful contrast against black silhouettes. Fashion Designer, Delia Alleyne introduced the line during the September 2015 market week in New York City. The looks include rompers, jackets, funky trousers and that classic little black dress. The “Let’s Paint” collection is splashy, bold and is styled with a retro artist’s cap that makes the collection reminiscent of the psychedelic sixties. The applied fabrics range from nets to denim, to brocades as the paint splatter and appliqueing adds detail and an interesting design element to the collection.

“Painting is like a metaphor for life…“, explains Delia. “We are born as blank canvases waiting to be. Then moment by moment; stroke by stroke… We create life’s memories by applying one colorful moment in our life at a time.“

Delia, with her distinguished pink hairstyle, has a passion for colorful fashions. Residing in Trinidad and Tobago, Delia creates fashions tailored towards confident women. Her personal clients are bold about making a grand appearance during special occasions, nightlife hot-spots and red carpet showcases. Delia is inspired by the many crafty artists who surround her Caribbean nation. She began her career designing fashion gowns for pageantry.

Delia’s tenure at Trinidad’s Caribbean Academy of Fashion and Design school prepared her for a mentorship working on costume design projects with the famed Caribbean couturieres Meiling Esau. Delia strives to bring an avant-garde genre of fashion design into ready-to-wear by applying unique design details, and using finer fabrics. Delia’s goal is for the “Let’s Paint” collection to become a luxuriant lifestyle brand that is recognized throughout the Caribbean.

Sometimes in the realm of fashion all it takes is one simple addition of an article of clothing to update a look for the better. Our Style Ambassador Carly demonstrates how to do this in one simple step. How did she channel her inner Beyonce and “upgrade” her denim? Carly leveled up her couture look with the help of military designed fashion. She revealed to us,

“Its a very playful outfit! Kept it really simple with my old jeans, but with a touch of military which in turn bought life to the outfit lol! Feels so new.”

There you have it gals with the help of a military style vest Carly took her ensemble from old to fresh and new! Instead of throwing away “older” fashions, try modernizing them with trendy pieces to give them new life!

Thanks to a few choice words penned by a journalist Ciara had television viewers thinking, “Wardrobe Malfunction Part Deux?” Oh, who of us can forget the Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake Super Bowl performance oops? If it hadn’t been for that little onstage situation TiVo and DVR may have failed to become such an important entertainment entity. However, many would agree that Ciara’s national anthem performance was far from being at risk of becoming yet another infamous style moment for all the wrong reasons. Yet still, Ciara causes fashion stir at national championship.

As numerous CiCi fans have tweeted, hashtagged and Instagramed; Ciara looked simply divine. Ciara wore a cape gown by Yousef Aljasmi that gracefully showed off her curves. As social media heated upon sight of her ensemble, Ciara’s sexy NFL boyfriend, Russell Wilson had a few words of his own. Russell took to his personal social media stating,

“I see you baby! Sounded amazing and looked flawless in every way!”

Alright ladies altogether now, “Awwww!” Pushing aside the fashion controversy we have to agree with Wilson that Ciara looked flawlessly chic. Nevertheless, what are your thoughts on Ciara’s dress and was it appropriate or slightly too much for a national broadcast? Weigh in dolls!

Fashionable Mention: Ciara is not the only drop dead gorgeous starlet to wear a Yousef Aljasmi design. Fellow singer and talented actress Keke Palmer wore another gown by the designer to the People’s Choice Awards. Looks like Yousef Aljasmi is becoming the go-to designer to the rich and famous!
