So ladies, what did you go see this weekend? If you and you favorite gal pals hit the theater it was probably to see one of the movies in the below list. Several films battled it out but only one came out on top of the box office for this past weekend. Here is the top ten:
Our girl Kelly has had short hair, long hair, curly hair and even rocked a mean Afro. The gorgeous singer takes the cake this week due to the hairstyle she wore to the event headlined by basketball superstar, Carmelo Anthony Kehinde Wiley Dinner hosted by Grey Goose on Thursday, July 16.
Rowland’s deep waves reminded us of Egyptian queens and goddesses. The style is elegant, chic with a hint of sassy allurement. Kelly was all smiles for the dinner and posed it out with Carmelo as well as Tina Knowles. What do you think of Kelly’s hair look, would you wear it?
Beauty Quickie-Want smooth, silky, soft to the touch skin? Consuming foods rich in Lycopene can help improve the texture of your skin making it radiantly soft. Be sure to indulge in Lycopene concentrated foods such as tomatoes, carrots and watermelon.
The Beverly Hilton Hotel was set on fire yesterday when sassy Angell Conwell hit the red carpet! Conwell wore a dazzling cobalt blue gown that showed off her super tiny waistline and bounteous decolletage. Angell didn’t over think the look but keep things streamlined by adding a few bracelets, earrings, ring and a clutch handbag.
Aisha Tyler has done it again! First Aisha wore a Basler creation to the Critics Choice Awards and now she went for the double gold by wearing another Basler dress to this year’s Daytime Emmy Awards. Tyler wore a body hugging purple Basler peplum gown that accentuated her curves perfectly. She kept her hair and makeup simple and accessorized her ensemble with gold jewelry.
Hey look! Seems like to us Aisha was also able to catch up with some old friends. Work ladies!
Okay we know it’s a little soon to be crowning an actress for our Hair of the Week, but its because we really love her hair! Up-dos can be so elegant and sophisticated and we feel that Mishael’s hairstyle exudes just that. Morgan attended the Daytime Emmy Nominee reception in a floor length yellow gown and curly hairstyle with a few tendrils framing her face here and there. She looked like a glowing Hollywood starlet and we can’t wait to see how she styles her tresses next.
Our hair of the week is worn by the gorgeous Kat Graham. Kat attended the Critics Choice Awards wearing an ensemble from the Escada Pre-Fall 2014 collection which she paired with shoes by Brian Atwood. Since the hair is a crown of glory in itself, Graham wore a sleek pompadour hairstyle which looked stunning. Graham looked modern, elegant and oozing of the cool factor. What do you think of Graham’s hairdo?
Remember when you used to ask your mom to do your hair with some up and some down? Well, one of your favorite looks from back in the day just got a makeover. Feast your eyes on the new improved way to create the some up with some down hairstyle.
Zendaya Coleman’s version is sleek, fresh and very edgy. Reminds us of the shaved sides look without having to actually cut your tresses. Gone too is the famous elastic hair tie, replaced with a bump in the top for height and complimented by silky smooth locks in the back. Absolutely, a great look this season, especially if you wish to keep your hair back and off your face while enduring the heat.
Fashion designers and beauty enthusiasts concur that Erykah Badu is a bonafide icon. From her sultry and anthem lyrical masterpieces to her striking natural beauty, Erykah is truly in a class all by herself. Due to her uniqueness we couldn’t wait to make Miss Badu our beauty of the night.
As usual we had difficulties settling on one look so we chose to narrow it down to two. The first look is a classic red lip (major trend for this season). Erykah just looks too cool for school and demontrates that when applied correctly a strong makeup look does not have to overpower your fashions. Badu’s accessories are already intensely bold yet her makeup simply complements her overall look without exerting dominance.
For the second favorite beauty look we just had to showcase Badu looking au natural. Bare face is the new glamour makeup look. Your beautiful just the way you are so take a page from Erykah’s book and flaunt it!

Hair trend alert, to be as hot as the temperature around you this summer you need to keep it chic and sleek! Bone straight locks are all the rage this season and to get this look it boils down to what tools you have in your hair arsenal. You can win the hair war in a cinch by investing in a great flat iron. Alright girls here is how we shall conquer!
Meet the Corioliss C3…what makes this flat iron one of the best?
This iron has plates made entirely from titanium. Titanium plates boast all of the same straightening properties as ceramic ones, but with a higher output of negative ions. If you have thick hair you will swear that this product was made just for you.
Nevertheless, the iron uses infrared heat to straighten hair. This differs from traditional heat because it generates longer wavelengths that more deeply penetrate the cuticle of individual hair strands. The result is straighter and smoother hair in mere seconds!
If you have unruly or coarse hair and other flat irons have failed you in the past then end all the drama with the Corioliss C3. The C3 retails for a whopping $200, however, the results are salon worthy which evens out the playing field just a bit. Get those tresses whipped into shape this summer with the help of a great product.
