Nicki Minaj Red Hair -Spotted During MONSE Spring 2019 NYFW Show

The thing about fashion week is that if you dress as a complete and total bore NO ONE will even notice your existence; which is why it brings out and encourages everyone’s style A-game. It’s not just about the dress, or shoes and undeniably chic handbag. A true NYFW week superstar has to look like they walked right out of a magazine editorial from their head, right down to their toes. Case in point, the Nicki Minaj red hair sighting that caused an “all eyes on me” collision at the MONSE Spring 2019 show.

The MONSE couture show was indeed captivating in itself. Models drifted down the runway in prints, trench coats, re-imagined asymmetrical tops/dresses and hybrid sweater hoodies with a nautical “rope” touch. However, the front row could not be ignored, for a particular rapper did not come to just sit and look pretty; she made a fabulous hair statement!

From any angle onlookers could witness and attest that Nicki’s rouge tresses had more edge than a knife blade. It was fierce, modern and effortlessly voguish. Nonetheless, Minaj from the start has not tried to play the fashion week game safe.

She’s worn purple hair, long pink waves, platinum blonde, a short blonde bob cut with multi-color accents; the new red AND it hasn’t even been a full 7 day week yet. A style risk-taker? Oh, you bet she is, and that’s why she is Queen.

I Love Her Hair

This is a great natural hairstyle that can contribute to hair protection as well as hair growth. The ends of the hair which are susceptible to damage are well protected within the braid. Moreover, this side braid hairstyle includes a front cornrow that can help keep unruly edges along the hairline under control.

How To Do It:

1. Part hair on the side.

2. Cornrow hair to the left of the part.

3. Once the left side braid is cornrowed down to the nape pull all hair to the right side.

4. Part remaining hair into two sections.

5. Holding the two sections (one in each hand), take strands from the left section and cross it over to the right section of hair.

6. Next, take strands from the right section and cross it over to the left section of the hair.

7. Continue repeating steps 5 and 6, crisscrossing sections of hair until the fishtail side braid is at your desired length.

One look that we are currently dying for is Altuzarra Spring Summer 2017 Wet Hair. This hairstyle is simply a Californian’s dream!

Growing up in Socal your life consists of sun, beach, wind, bonfire and water. The old wash, rinse and repeat. Even with such consistency Cali life is relaxed and glamorously cool.

People love our laid back style out here and we love to serve it. Beachy waves and slick hair screams Cali girl because we all like to think of ourselves as fashionable, water sports lovers addicted to Ventura Boulevard. Maybe that is why we went B-A-N-A-N-A-S for the Altuzarra Spring Summer 2017 wet hair.

The overall look is slightly damp hair with more defined waves towards the front that loosen closer to the ends. As a result, hair looks youthful and voguish. We love this hair and thought it complemented the fruity, printed and light palette of the Altuzarra designs nicely.

Fashion isn’t just about the clothes; hair plays a crucial role in your overall look and appearance. Whether you are always on the go or a fashionista of leisure a bad hair day must be kept at bay at all times. Therefore, what are the hair trends that are perfect for winter?

Hair Trend #1 Look no further than the always classic chignon aka “Bun.” The bun found its way onto numerous runways and stole all the shows. What’s great about the bun is that it can be styled quickly, is a hair protector, doesn’t have to look perfect and can work for night or daytime looks. By the looks of Karreuche Tran this is definitely a win-win in the hair department. Add even more drama to the look by utilizes braids or twists like Tran.

Hair Trend #2 If clothes can look great with a vintage touch, then why not also our hair? Audra Day demonstrates how glamorous retro styled hair can look by incorporating a scarf. Hairbands and scarves have been all the rage during spring/summer runway collections.

Hair Trend #3 The 70’s are back! Well, when it comes to hair that is; big hair is a huge trend and what better way to showcase that than a gorgeous shaped bob. Shout out to Lupita Nyong’o and the beautiful full hair she rocked at this her shoot for Rhapsody. The hair is a nice modern take on the Afro, with hair maintaining volume but has been straightened with blunt ends. Groovy!

We tried hard not to like this look, but can no longer stand it… it is fire! From Tumblr to Instagram we have noticed more and more photos of black guys indulging in the blue hair trend. We are loving all of the different variations including high top cuts and partial color just on the sides.

Blue hair even on women is a VERY bold hair look. Nevertheless, when done right it is one of the most chic wild child hairstyles that anyone could wear. In a world saturated with ombre, blonde and pastels it is quite refreshing to see a solid color getting mad love.

Besides, just blue hair we have even seen some guys completely go all in and try a multi-tinted style. We figured the mermaid hair color trend would only be a girl thing but seeing it on men proves that anyone with the guts can claim the glory. If a man possesses the innate style and personality then the his dyed hair will blend in with his fashions naturally.

If your man or best friend is interested in going blue here are a few hair dye tips that you can share with him:

Beat the Heat: Dyed hair and heat styling are not best friends, so such styling should be avoided. Unlike us girls many men will let their blow dryer collect dust and air dry their hair. That would actually be a better option because heat seriously strips hair color.
Prevent the Rinse: After bleaching tell that dude to avoid getting his hair wet like its the plague. Excessive hair washing and water will cause fading to happen even faster. Guys can try using a dry shampoo in-between hair washes to help keep dyes vibrant longer.
Cold Water Rinse: Since we are on the topic of cleansing, whenever blue hair dude does his final rinse it should be with cold water. He doesn’t need to freeze like an Eskimo, but as cold as he can stand. Unlike hot water that will strip color, cool water will close the cuticle, make hair shiny and lock in the color.
