Prince Harry and his wife former Suits actress, Meghan Markle, welcomed their no doubt adorable royal baby in the wee hours of May 6, 2019. The official announcement from the pair in regards to the birth occurred not long after. Harry and Meghan just weeks prior had opened up a new Instagram page allowing their millions of fans and admirers to get an inside look into their life and charitable acts.

Their new social media page proved to be the perfect vehicle to herald news about the arrival of their new bundle of joy. As soon as Baby Sussex officially came into the world the page stated:

“We are pleased to announce that Their Royal Highnesses, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their firstborn in the early morning May 6, 2019. Their Royal Highnesses’ son weighs 7lbs 3oz.

The Duchess and Baby are both healthy and well, and the couple thank members of the public for their shared excitement and support during this very special time in their lives.”

Speaking of excitement and support; as soon as news of the royal baby hit the story broke the Internet in minutes! It instantly became the number one trending subject on Twitter; with hashtags: royal baby, Meghan, and Prince Harry at the top of the search.

Furthermore, the royal couple’s posting to Instagram didn’t do too shabby either. In 15 minutes the post had garnered a half of million likes. Reaching over 1.2 million likes in just an hour. Nevertheless, this IG popularity is normal for Meg and Harry being that they broke the record for fastest account to gain a million followers.
