Fashion Notes: We are sure you also picked up on all the luxurious jewelry Ajak Deng is wearing on her amazing cover. Her jewels are all designs by Mappin & Webb. Rich history surrounds this elegant and craftsman British boutique. Mappin & Webb is an English jeweler that has been around since its establishment in 1775.

Lastly, let’s talk about those stunner shades, shall we? For the Grazia UK cover, Ajak Deng also wears a pair of shades by Sener Besim. The style Deng sports is the Sener Besim S7 Nero. If you would like a pair, these sunglasses are currently available in stores as well as online.

The industry just keeps giving! Gucci rocked our fashion world with the release of their Fall 2017 ad campaign starring all black models. Now Harper’s Bazaar is showing us more love as well as melanin magic. The Harper’s Bazaar April 2017 issue celebrates the beauty of diversity and stars 5 gorgeous black models. The mag states they are giving a fresh approach to fashion by embracing a world of beauty. We’re in!

Okay dolls let’s get into the who, what and why. Harper’s Bazaar Arabia proudly took to social in order to reveal their cover stars. The magazine shared, “Harper’s Bazaar Arabia celebrates the beauty of diversity with Gucci for our April cover shoot. Starring Jourdana Elizabeth, Lameka Fox, Grace Mahary, Ajak Deng and Nykor Paul. The results are simply stunning.”

Amen to that. Plus, the message behind the cover and editorial shoot is nothing but inspirational. Katie Trotter, who served as the Creative Director for the April issue says, “What a pleasure to work with the most beautiful girls in the industry that smile from the inside out. To all the smart, powerful and beautiful women around the world we salute you! These girls could rule the world. Thank you for your spirit.”

Beauty is not one sided or one shade. That is the overall theme that the magazine hopes to impress upon its readership. The more we come to appreciate each other the more united we will be.

Upon seeing this editorial actress Tracee Ellis Ross expressed that there was just so much beauty on the cover. Model Grace Mahary who stars in the issue’s cover story reacted to Tracee’s sentiments saying,

“Thank you Tracee Ellis Ross! I look up to you for so many reasons and here you go sealing exactly why: We are STRONGER together!”

It is definitely nice to see the conversation of diversity still being welcome to the table of beauty discussion. Trust us, seven words… Saint Laurent 100 Lou 48mm Retro Sunglasses. Living here in sunny Los Angeles we are as tied to our sunglasses as we are our smartphones, In-N-Out or vegan food. You know whatever one floats your boat. We have our ways and our fashion choices fall in line with them. We wake up to the sun shining in our eyes and even after it sets our attiude reflects a pop song from the 80’s; we “wear our sunglasses at night.” It is a necessary part of life so we Californians pretty much consider ourselves to be Sunglasses-Connoisseurs. Whatever is fresh, modern and trendy we are most likely a credit card swipe away from sliding them over our peepers.

Therefore, what is cool look for this season? Studded fashions have been everywhere so far this year. Jackets, belts and shoe-wear have all received the studded touch. Now the lovely three-dimensional detailing have found their way on yet another chic accessory.

We spotted model, Ajak Deng, wearing a brand new design by YSL aka Saint Laurent in celebration of it finally being the weekend. She posted several pics of herself while relaxing at a spa wearing her designer shades stating, “happy Friyaaaayyyyy.” She wore a pair of studded black sunnies known as Saint Laurent 100 Lou 48mm Retro Sunglasses as previously mentioned.
