Congratulations Ray Parker Jr!

He is the 2,518th entertainer to garner a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.  Emcee Leron Gubler, Hollywood Chamber of Commerce President and CEO, and guest speakers Bill Withers and Brian Holland will help Parker unveil his star.

With numerous hit songs, Parker’s in the category of recording. He’s perhaps best known for the hit, “Ghostbusters” — a number one smash pop hit. Parker’s a versatile musician — also being a sought after guitarist. “We have amazing musicians on the Walk of Fame and adding Ray Parker Jr. to our famous Walk of Fame is the icing on the cake,” Gubler said.

Parker will be surrounded by great company.  “His star will be next to fellow musical greats Herbie Hancock, Thelonious Monk, Dizzy Gillespie and The Funk Brothers!”  The singer-songwriter-producer has definitely earned his star.

Prior to garnering one of the entertainment industry’s most elite, prestigious honors, he was winning many other awards. These awards include a BAFTA, Grammy and Golden Globe award. He’s been nominated for the Oscar for Best Original Song, “Ghostbusters” as well.  Walk of Fame will live stream Parker’s honoring on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. PST.  The star will be located at 7065 Hollywood Boulevard.
