Jay Z recently bought the Scandinavian high-fidelity streaming service Tidal, and now he’s calling upon his many, many friends in the music industry to mark the launch. In anticipation of Tidal’s expected 2 p.m. EST United States launch, Hova changed his Twitter avatar to a bright turquoise square, and enlisted Kanye West, Arcade Fire, Daft Punk, Rihanna, and pretty much everyone who is anyone to do the same. Many of them have also changed their Instagram and Facebook avatars as well.

What is Tidal?

Introducing the first music streaming service that combines the best High Fidelity sound quality, High Definition music videos and expertly Curated Editorial. Tidal will compete with platforms like Spotify as well as Apple’s nearly ready and revamped music service involving Beats Music.
