The hottest ticket of summer swooped in and took over LA. The crowds were hype, performances energetic and the vibe was unreal. Los Angeles definitely put the ‘Soul’ back into the music scene during the first annual LA Soul Fest!
LA Soul Fest -We Like to Party
We went straight ape and dare we say, Panda during all of the LA Soul Fest performances. Performers included: Angie Stone, Goapele, Joe, Vivian Green, Jasmine Sullivan and Eric Benet to name a few. As excited as all in attendance were, the performers themselves were just as pumped.
On the red carpet, many told us that they enjoyed performing in front of massive size crowds just as much as more intimate settings. To them there is an energy from the crowd that is just magnetic. They feed off it and just love it!
Goapele took to social media to express her LA Soul Fest feelings and personally thank her lovely fans, she said,
“Thanks to everybody who made it out for the LA Soul festival this weekend- last night was fun!”
The stunning star also snapped some cute pics with fellow performers. A duo photo op we loved was with Goapele and the talented Vivian Green. After her performance Vivian spoke on her meet up with Goapele stating,
“Goapele and I last night in LA!! This lovely lady and I toured together 10 years ago and we haven’t been on the same bill since until last night at the LA Soul Fest!! I always root for her and completely admire how she’s done things her way and built her fan base from the ground up!”
Like Goapele, Vivian Green put on quite the show! Goapele performed a touching tribute to Prince and Green entertained the crowds with her powerful vocals. When we say Green blew everyone away, trust us, she dropped the mic and then some! Regarding her performance Green said,
“Singing with my girls in LA at the LA Soul Fest, Tracey Preston and Treena Ferebee #weagroup … these ladies don’t belong in the back so I put them in the front with me ya heard! Lol … Kwame’s in there too in the white.”
The fab Angie Stone and Joe also took the stage Saturday night performing hit after hit. You could really feel a sense of camaraderie among all the performers. They would shout each other out from the stage and watch each others’ performances. Just a full of weekend of music, fun and plenty of sun.
