Not bad for a film that only cost just about $20 million in order to be made. Moreover, even though the film did not come in number one. It still is the largest opening weekend for a live action comedy of 2017!

Girls Trip stars the one and only Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett-Smith, Regina Hall and rising star Tiffany Haddish. Besides these gorgeous dolls Girls Trip also stars Larenz Tate, Kate Walsh as well as Kofi Siriboe. Nevertheless, Universal Pictures is very happy with their film’s box office success.

Nick Carpou who is Universal’s President of Domestic Distribution explains the film’s strong box office showing stating, “Funny is funny. And it’s a really funny movie. Our four leads are excellent. If they make you laugh you’re likely to tell your friends. That’s what’s happening here.”
