Every year the entertainment industry pauses to take note of Vanity Fair’s yearly salute to the who’s-who of the Hollywood elite. This year’s issue cover boast a record breaking 6 black actors and actresses. In times past, dating back to 1999 only four people of color have ever graced the Hollywood Issue, those being: Thandie Newton, Chris Rock, Djimon Hounsou and President Barak Obama.

We are definitely seeing history in the making as half of the twelve actors pictured on the 2014 Vanity Fair cover are people of color. This once again solidifies the fact that more diversity in the entertainment field is slowly being achieved as well as recognized. We hope that all of you aspiring, talented and driven people out there never stop chasing your dreams. As a people, we can do anything that we put our minds to and maybe just one day we will be writing about YOU gracing the cover of Vanity Fair’s Hollywood issue.
