What a Cucumber Can Do for Your Eyes
Eye puffiness can strike at any time and it ends up making us look tired and worn down instead of looking awake and refreshed. Don’t worry, you can whip that puffiness into submission in no time at all. There are a lot of good things to love about cucumbers; they are rich in antioxidants that help reduce redness, swelling and irritation. Cucumbers are also cool, literally, in that they provide a cooling effect which constricts blood vessels and reduces swelling or eye puffiness. All you need to do is a place a cucumber slice over each eye and rest for 30 minutes. If you have some extra time, you can blend two or three cucumbers, remove the pulp, extract the liquid and leave the liquid in the refrigerator for 20 minutes. After that use a cotton swab to dip into the liquid and apply it over each eye. Wait 15 to 20 minutes and then rinse off.
