Whitney Houston died February 11, 2012. Now, the Houston family is reportedly upset that Lifetime is making a movie about her life because they feel she is too big for small screen. The family of the late singer thinks that she was worthy of more than a television film, reportedly. “Whitney is certainly worthy of more than a television movie. If Whitney were here today, this would not be happening,” said Pat Houston, Whitney`s former manager.
Lifetime made the announcement earlier this week that they are planning a biopic on Whitney for 2015, with Angela Bassett making her directorial debut with the film.
The Houston estate is so upset they are considering a lawsuit to block production. The family has already expressed displeasure to Lifetime and made it clear they weren`t on board with a TV movie, a source said.
The Houston estate is reportedly planning its own movie for the big screen. They plan on doing something similar to what did Michael Jackson’s estate did with “This is It” and planning a movie of its own to hit the big screen.
