The biggest musician of all time is Michael Jackson. He changed music forever and helped make MTV what they are today. His thriller video propelled the network to the top back in the 80’s. Normally, MTV tries to milk it and make their audience wait for the Michael Jackson Vanguard award. However, this year things are completely different. For the past few years the MTV Video Music Awards has dramatically slipped in the ratings department.

Nevertheless, VMAs 2016 is coming hard with performances by super big artists. The deemed holy trinity (Beyonce, Rihanna, and Nicki Minaj) are all confirmed as performers. So with big names and a big show opener there should more of a draw this year. At least we are sure that is what MTV is aiming to achieve.
