For the March edition of ELLE Solange talks about a little bit of everything. She dives into music, love, her ambitions, art and her huge 2016 album. Regarding creating her wildly successful music she stated,

“Writing felt like this insular thing that I could go back in my room and express all that I would observe. [Also] all the emotions that would arise. It felt like mine, my little thing.”

Salamishah Tillet who is a scholar, professor at the University of Pennsylvania and activist shared thoughts on Solange. Inside the March issue Tillet gives her views regarding A Seat at the Table. She says,

“A Seat at the Table boldly channels the contradictions of our moment. The stew of pride, disappointment, vulnerability, and anger that African Americans are experiencing. In an era marked as much by the election of our first black president as the murder of young black people.

[Nevertheless] the record is sweeping in its reckoning with the nation’s vexed racial past and present. Furthermore its intimate and unexpectedly gentle.”

Rihanna Honors Amelia Earhart For Harper’s Bazaar 150th Anniversary Issue

Rihanna and Harper’s Bazaar did not come to play! Let us tell you that the fashions are stunning and the imagery is breath-taking. The theme of the editorial is brilliant especially with the amount of pure girl power that has manifested itself so far in 2017. This is a must-see spread, Rihanna Honors Amelia Earhart For Harper’s Bazaar 150th Anniversary Issue.

Two different gorgeous covers as well as an editorial with looks for days! Honestly, Rihanna’s homage to the great Amelia Earhart just keeps giving. You gaze upon one shot and then the very next one tops it. Harper’s Bazaar talked about their big anniversary issue stating, “Badgal Riri channels Amelia Earhart, the first woman to fly alone across the Atlantic Ocean, for our March 2017 issue by editor in chief Glenda Bailey.”

Hats off to Bailey because the execution of the 150th edition is flawless. Moreover, RiRi showcased her flawless modeling skill set while wearing fashions from the Spring/Summer 2017 collections of Salvatore Ferragamo and Stella McCartney (to name a few). Regarding taking part in the edition Rihanna says, “On my Amelia Earhart sh*t! Such an honor to pay tribute to this dynamic bada** woman! Always handled her duties in the most style!”

No doubt Rihanna knows a thing or two about being dynamic. Her artistry and style has helped separate her from the musical pack and made her a fashion icon. Moreover, she accomplished it all as a hard-working woman with much drive. Rihanna commented further on why honoring Amelia was so fitting. She stated,

“There’s something so special about a woman who dominates in a man’s world. It takes a certain grace, strength, intelligence and fearlessness. [Also] the nerve to never take no for an answer.

Amelia Earhart was such a dynamic force in her industry, setting multiple aviation records in her time. So it was a no-brainer for me to team up with Harper’s Bazaar in honor of a woman who held her own with the boys.”
