Wave Those Toothbrushes! Christina Milian’s Cornrows Style and Baby Hairs

Cornrows Style

Thank you Brandon Almengo! Brandon is the man aka photographer behind one of Christina’s latest photo shoots. For this particular visual the singer sports a cornrows style and some seriously LAID baby hairs. We are totally hair crushing on this look and Christina is making us want to rock them from A.M. to P.M.! (Old school Milian song reference kiddos).

Christina Milian’s Cornrows Style and Baby Hairs

For several seasons now, the cornrows style as well as baby hairs have become more en vogue. Not to say that these hairstyles have not been “around” or trendy, especially within black culture. It is just that now everyone and their mama as well as all of mainstream pop culture is getting down them too. Literally, you can’t scroll the Gram timeline or Explore page without seeing it. Therefore, if you are looking for a style that keeps giving, you have found it.

Cornrows Style

Nonetheless, if you want to learn how to execute a look properly it’s best to look toward the source right? Therefore, who was the mastermind behind this glamorous hairstyle for Christina? Naima Lewis (@bellacheveux on instagram) is the stylist that completed the cornrows style on Ms. Milian! Lewis’ artistry just goes to prove that natural hairstyles can bring the drama and je ne sais quoi as much as any other hair look.

Furthermore, we also love this hairstyle because it’s a chic protective style. If you are trying to grow out your hair or maintain length this hair look will help shield your strands from harm. Also, there is so much freedom and room to create one-of-a-kind versions. As a result, you could steal Christina Milian’s cornrows style or you can design one with your own personal flair. It’s all up to you!

How to Make a Messy Bun – 5 Styling Tips to Get Zendaya’s Look!

How to Make a Messy Bun

Want to look as hot as a Victoria’s Secret supermodel? Or how about one of the most talented starlets of Young Hollywood? Well, then we suggest you perfect the messy bun as of yesterday. This style is a favorite on the Gram as well as your favorite celebrities. However, as easy as it may seem, looking undone while not being undone is not always a walk in the park. Nevertheless, no need to fear, we have several tricks on How to Make a Messy Bun!

How to Make a Messy Bun – 5 Styling Tips to Get Zendaya’s Look

Yes, you can rock designer garb with a messy bun and still look high-end! See that is the true beauty of this hairstyle. It is extremely versatile. Can be worn during the daytime or at night. To a pool party or classy dinner date with your man.

An excellent example of this hair look is Spiderman Homecoming’s Zendaya. Our girl was on her merry way to the Vogue Paris Foundation Gala when we spotted her looking glam with the messy bun hairstyle. We love the easy, breezy vibe of Zendaya’s hair. Gorgeous without feeling stuffy. Fashion Side Bar- That ensemble Zendaya is wearing is a design by Viktor and Rolf. Aye!

How to Make a Messy Bun

How to Make a Messy Bun

Alright, now the real fun begins. It’s your turn to get the look. Here are few tricks to help make it happen.

Twist and Shout- Twisting strands is an easy hack for creating a cool messed up chignon look. Simply twist the entire tail or parts of it until coiling occurs. Then use bobby pins to secure hairs and design a messy bun.

OMG! You’re Such a Tease!– Creating volume and roughing up your strands a bit is major key when creating a messy bun. The volume ensures the hair gains a little more shape. While gently “roughing” up tresses through teasing helps the style look less than perfect. So take out those combs and get busy dolls.

Hang Loose- Normally having a hair out of place in Girl World is a sentence worse than death. However, when rocking a messy bun you want that slightly disheveled effect. Get it by first creating the style and then gently pulling hair loose from the bun. Also, having loose strands framing the face makes for a very sexy look. You will look like you rolled out of bed looking as flawless as the Queen Bey.

Finger Play- Now we know your parentals probably told you it is wrong to play with your food. Yet, when it comes to your hair all bets are off! Instead of using styling utensils such as a hair comb or brush to pull strands back securely into a ponytail. Use your fingers to work tresses into this style. The result will be a little messier than normal. Which is good because you want the hairstyle to look “lazy” without seeming like you faked it or tried to hard to achieve it.

Black Girl Hair

Moreover, a BTS shot of Tran on set revealed a hair look that is every bit urban fresh. Karrueche’s blonde tresses are pulled back into a some up, some down fashion. To add drama braids as well as humongous hoop earrings are incorporated. We have seen flowers, gold clasps, crowns and even bobby pins be used as hair accessories, but never large hoop earrings.

Definitely a hair look that is outside of the conventional black girl hair box. What do you think of Karrueche’s style for Claws? Would you rock it or pass?

Hair of the Week: Skai Jackson-Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Men Tell No Tales Premiere

Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Men Tell No Tales

Long or short this doll can rock it all! Skai Jackson continues to kill the game in fashion, beauty and hair. This week she is taking home our trophy for Hair of the Week for her beyond chic hairstyle we spotted at the Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Men Tell No Tales premiere!

Hair of the Week: Skai Jackson-Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Men Tell No Tales Premiere

For the Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Men Tell No Tales premiere (whew, say that fives times fast) Skai Jackson wore a textured bob. Adding texture gives hair slightly more body and dimension. We are almost feeling like this hair look should be considered a lob, since it falls right at shoulder length. However, her amazing stylist says bob, so its a bob hunty! Skai Jackson’s cute hairstyle is a creation of Los Angeles hair stylist, Alexander Armand.

Nevertheless, the part of this particular style that we loved the most is her bang. The length was absolutely perfect. It wasn’t so short that it looked odd or so long that it looked uncomfortably resting in her eyes. It was just right and added a nice touch of panache to the overall look.

Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Men Tell No Tales

Fashion Notes: Did you think we were really going to leave you hanging on the fashion tip ladies? Skai’s dazzling printed floor length dress is by Alice + Olivia. At times, long dresses can really drown a petite girl. However, the tailoring on this dress ensures that Jackson isn’t “lost” in the design. She is wearing it, instead of it wearing her.

High Ponytail Hairstyles: Blac Chyna ‘Raises’ The Bar

This season strands are going to new heights! Want to be on trend? Then learn to aim higher darling. Go for the hair gold by rocking high ponytail hairstyles. We spied Blac Chyna taking things up a bit and the result was absolutely stunning.

High Ponytail Hairstyles: Blac Chyna ‘Raises’ The Bar

Hair shouldn’t be a headache. High Ponytail Hairstyles are easy hair looks that can command attention effortlessly. Raise a hand if you remember Queen Bey‘s high ponytail Met Gala hairstyle. Her fierce tail turned heads even though in essence it was a simplistic and incomplex hairdo.

Blac Chyna’s ponytail was created using virgin hair from Kendras Boutique. The boutique sells not only extensions but also hair products and styling tools such as flat irons too. Nevertheless, Blac Chyna switched things up from her signature raven tone locks and opted for a fab platinum blonde shade. Moreover, Chyna added texture to her look by incorporating loose waves. Furthermore, the tail received an extra dose of chic by wrapping a few strands around all elastics so that they are hidden.

Beauty Notes: Blac Chyna’s makeup is a perfect look for spring. Makeup artist Jolisa Jackson aka Jo, created a look that incorporated delicious peachy as well as pink hues. The color peach is a subtle tone that denotes demureness, innocence and purity. Moreover, pink is romantic, feminine, playful and considered the tint of love due to being associated with red and white. Nevertheless, since most think of spring as being a time of renewal, vitality, pureness, hope and love such a beauty look is very fitting.
