Grown-ish Season 2 -FINALLY Coming Back January 2nd 2019
Fans (and we) have not been happy over the seeming delay of Grown-ish Season 2. While streaming capabilities i.e. Hulu, does allow us to get a “fix” by watching all of season one’s episodes, it’s time for some new material Freeform! For weeks social media has been littered with fan comments such as:
“When is the exact day its coming back so I can start my countdown.”
“Now hurry up.”
“I love this show I’m so excited I miss it so much.”
“When does this sh*t come back on tf.”
It is clear, Season 2’s arrival is being anxiously awaited. Freeform decided to put us all out of our misery (yay); by releasing a return date. Grown-ish Season 2 shall appear January 2, 2019. The premiere will be an hour long to ensure we are all reeled in for all the new-new. FINALLY!

So what’s going down with the cast this time? Well, during the promo trailer for season 2 actress Yara Shahidi’s character, Zoey can be heard stating,
“I personally love a sequel. It’s the opportunity to do things bigger and better. Hello adulthood.”
Therefore, be prepared for more drama, confusion, triumphs and fails as the cast continues to embrace the trials and tribulations of learning to adult. Furthermore, also look forward to more eye candy.
Besides, Luka Sabbat and Trevor Jackson; cutie Diggy Simmons will be hitting your screen on a regular basis. Regarding the move Freeform confirms, “Guess who’s back, back again. Diggy Simmons is back as a recurring character this season.”

What is this new movement? Well, for years the fashion industry as come under fire for utilizing images of mainly one body type/shape in order to sell their designs. Additionally, magazine photo-retouching has also hit the guillotine for claims of making young women feel less than pleased with their bodies.
Nevertheless, this backlash has lead to positive changes. Models in some places are not allowed to be underweight and many designers have presented collections using curvaceous models. Furthermore, Aerie is seeking to do their part to help their consumers feel confident and simply great. Aerie explains,
“We are taking the Aerie Real movement to the next level, and you’re coming with us! No retouching. Body positivity. Girl power.

Why Yara? For the Aerie brand the choice was a total no-brainer. In a recent statement the brand revealed all beginning with a quote from the actress, stating,
“‘I love supporting movements that help perpetuate this idea of rising together.’ Yari Shahidi is an actress and thought leader. And her Gapyear before attending college, Yara is furthering her own creative projects and using her strong voice to support movements that matter. For increasing voter turnout in the 2018 midterms to empowering young people to get involved in social causes focus on human well-being.”
Yara also had a few thoughts on why she is happy to be apart of the Aerie family. She says,

Yara Shahidi Wearing Solace London Pre-Fall 2017 at ABC Upfronts
If you were to look up the word stunning in the dictionary most likely you would see Yara Shahidi’s picture right next to the definition. The busy beauty is currently doing press at ABC Upfronts. Yara stepped out in chic ensemble from the Solace London Pre-Fall 2017 collection.
Moreover, at ABC Upfronts it was confirmed that Shahidi’s spin-off of the wildly successful Black-ish is a definite go. College-ish will premiere in early 2018 on Freeform network. So far at least 13 episodes are on deck to air.
Yara’s show takes it’s influence from the popular retro television series, A Different World which starred Zoe Kravitz’s mama Lisa Bonet. College-ish will follow Shahidi’s breakout character, Zoey Johnson as she goes to college and comes to the realization that not everything will be perfect. Especially, now that she’s left the nest.

Well College-ish certainly sounds like a show that no one will want to miss. Furthermore, Yara’s fashion seen today could not be missed either! Actor Bernard David Jones got the chance to snap a quick pic with fashionable Yara. In reference to their moment together Jones said, “I had the great pleasure of spending time talking to this super cool, down to earth, talented and crazy intelligent beauty Yara Shahidi!
