Metallic Lips

Metallic lips are back and more BOLD and IN YOUR FACE than ever! Forget glitter, forget your regular sparkle palette and look to the runway for all cosmetic inspiration. That is because designer genius, Jeremy Scott, for his Jeremy Scott Spring 2019 show; brought the makeup house down by bringing foiled lips back to the catwalk.

Metallic Lips

Depending on how lipstick fanatic you are… you may recall the foiled lips splash that was created by the iconic Pat McGrath. Her crimson shiny, futuristic lip look was the talk of the beauty town when it appeared for the Maison Margiela Fall 2017 Couture Week show. Or perhaps you may be thinking of those Glitzy Lips foil appliques from like the early 2010’s era.

Metallic Lips

Regardless, of what foil makeup moment immediately comes to mind; no matter how many times you see foil lips it never gets old. It’s fierce, edgy and totally cosidered statement makeup. For Jeremy Scott’s fashion show for New York Fashion Week MUA (makeup artist), Kabuki, perfected and executed a dazzling metallic pink lip. Want the look? Here’s how:

  1. Purchase foil lips in the tone or color you like. They will most likely come in pre-cut “lip shape” strips.
  2. Next make sure lips are super clean and dry.
  3. Apply an adhesive and wait for it to go from a milky tint to clear. PLEASE WAIT or the foiling will not work!
  4. Now place the foil (shiny side up) on your lips and press. After a few moments you can gently remove and voila! A foil masterpiece! Retouch and repeat in order to fill in any gaps.
