Zendaya for Allure December/January Issue

Zendaya Coleman has the kind of career that many coming to Hollywood could only hope for. With singing, acting and dancing credits under her belt; PLUS Disney; a fashion collaboration with Tommy Hilfiger; the hit HBO show Euphoria and a recurring Marvel role. If Zendaya’s career ended right this second she would already be one of the best to ever do it. However, that’s just it… she is ONLY getting started. In the Zendaya for Allure December/January issue; Allure mag dives into why Zendaya and her hot career is taking flight!

Did You Know? In this editorial for Allure Zendaya also wears, well… herself? Yup! That’s right, in some shots Coleman is rocking looks from her collaboration with designer, Tommy Hilfiger; the Tommy x Zendaya collection.

Zendaya for Allure December/January Issue

No one likes a good preview more than us. As a result, we went start to the source in order to find out what exactly is in this upcoming magazine edition. Regarding Zendaya’s cover, editorial beauty and story; the magazine says,

“Zendaya puts the Z in Gen Z; and she’s just begun to take flight. Introducing our Out of Office issue starring Zendaya! Her style is on point. Her humor is subtle. And in Euphoria she can break your heart with a look.

[For our December/January issue] Zendaya took us to all new heights with these looks. Creating Zendaya’s 70’s-inspired hair, makeup; and wardrobe for her Allure cover shot was a team effort from her long-time glam squad.

Makeup artist Sheika Daley created a custom blue wash of color on her lids and hairstylist Larry Sims sculpted the edgy; sky-high hair to complement the bold look.

[Furthermore, in her story you’ll learn] ‘You can’t do it all’ is one of Zendaya’s least favorite sayings. [She says] ‘It makes me mad. I don’t like the idea that you have to box yourself in or stay in one lane. Why wouldn’t I want to try to make the most of my talents and my gifts while I can?'”

We agree Zendaya! If you believe it, you can achieve it. Don’t ever short change yourself! Check out the rest of Zendaya’s cover story at Allure.com.

Allure March 2018 Issue Featuring Actress Lupita Nyong’o!

Allure March 2018

The Allure March 2018 edition is giving us serious William sisters vibes! We spy braids and hair accessory beads as far as the eye can see. It is a beautiful thing. The cover featuring Oscar winner, Lupita Nyong’o is certainly one for the culture.

Don’t wear your hair like that. Those look unprofessional. Braids can never be classy. Sound familiar?

For years, those are some of the expressions women of color have had to endure when it comes to hairstyling. Especially, when wearing their tresses in the form of braids. However, Allure magazine is diving into a different mindset and space. One where people can try to open and stretch their thoughts or opinions to see not only the beauty, but versatility of curls, waves, coils and kinks.

Allure March 2018

This week Allure excitedly revealed their upcoming March 2018 edition and shared a fitting quote. The magazine says,

“Presenting our March 2018 issue, The Culture of Hair, starring Lupita Nyong’o. In addition to talking to Nyong’o about her relationship with her hair; we also gave her and  hairstylist, Vernon Francois total freedom over her looks.

‘Lupita and I wanted to show that coily or kinky hair has many strengths and can be worn in lots of different ways. [Thus] celebrating its beauty and versatility.’ says Francois.”

Allure’s April issue is absolutely amazing, but then the question can be begged, why create such an journal centered on diversity? What served as their motivation or inspiration behind this issue? Allure explains:

“Our skin is so much more than a reflection in the mirror. Our skin is a metaphor that defines how we are seen and how we see ourselves. For our April 2017 issue (featuring models Dilone, Imaan Hamman and Aamito Lagum on the cover!), [we] asked 41 women of color to tell us the story of their lives through their skin and skin tone. Because our skin can be both a vulnerability and a defense. But most importantly, it can be a source of celebration.”

Zendaya Covers Allure Magazine January 2017 Issue

Zendaya Covers Allure Magazine January 2017 Issue

This just in, Zendaya Covers Allure Magazine January 2017 Issue! From clothing brand launch to cover girl, Zendaya is doing it all this year. Miss Coleman is no stranger to photo shoots, the limelight, launching companies or being a role model for young girls. She speaks her mind confidently and stands up for herself as well as her culture with grace. In the January edition of Allure Zendaya tackles the importance of being yourself even in a fashion sense.

Zendaya Covers Allure Magazine January 2017 Issue

Do you dress according to your mood or go for trends? Does your wardrobe scream that you dance to the beat of your own drum or blend in with the crowd? In Zendaya’s case when it comes to couture she aims to be her herself and wear whatever she desires. Regarding her passion for fashion Zendaya told Allure,

“You can’t let other people determine what you want to wear, how you do your hair, how you live your life. You have to live for yourself and what makes you happy. So that’s why I dress how I dress on red carpets, and I wear a mullet to the Grammys and do what I want. It’s very liberating to just wear something for yourself and because I feel confident and I feel comfortable in it.

But that’s the whole point, you know, is for there to be conversation and talk. If I didn’t dress the way I dress or wear my hair the way I wanted to because people told me that they didn’t like it, I would be boring. And I wouldn’t be on the cover of this magazine, because no one would care. And I would never experiment. And I never would find my confidence. So I would just have a rule that you have to live for yourself and what makes you happy.”
