Star Wars has become more than an awesome set of heartrending films immortalized by its legions of fans. An official day has now been put aside, a ‘forceful’ holiday to bring all Jedis, Siths, younglings and the rest of us awesomely cool people together. Fans the world over have their special ways of enjoying May 4th, all of us here at 1966 would like to take a moment to recognize some of the amazing actors who played a part of making movie history.

Did you know that some of the biggest names in Black Hollywood have had roles in Star Wars? Jar Jar Binks was voiced by Ahmed Best and Billy Dee Williams played one of the sexiest smugglers to ever jump to light speed. Yeah ladies, go ahead and take a moment to whistle at that statement.

Nevertheless, the highest grossing actor of all time, Samuel L. Jackson saw major light saber action playing Mace Windu. If the history books on Star Wars were closed right there it would still be cool that we were able to enjoy those uber-talented black actors in the trilogies. However, one of most famous villains of all time, Darth Vader was voiced by legendary actor James Earl Jones. Ladies and gentlemen on that note we have to drop the mic.
