Olive oil is also known for its many health benefits that can even result in longer life expectancies. How is all of this possible? Olive oil is rich in what’s known as monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFAs) which through research has shown can lower the risks of heart disease, high blood pressure and stroke. Therefore, it is very important to make sure you are consuming a nice amount of MUFAs in your diet instead of unhealthy fats such as, saturated fats and trans fats.
